Why did I struggle to admit my depression as a Christian? Misconceptions like "good Christians don't get depressed" or "just pray harder" kept me silent. I felt shame, thinking I should be able to pray it away or have enough faith. Fear of judgment from the church community made it worse.

Church—we need to do better. Our assignment is to ENCOURAGE the body of Christ, not shame people for struggling. Depression isn't a lack of faith—it's a real condition that needs support, prayer, AND often professional help.
Let's be cheerleaders for each other's healing, not judges of each other's struggles.
