Following the first WHO report on the evidence base for the health benefits of the arts, the Arts & Health @ NYU partnered with the World Health Organization, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Culturunners, to produce Healing Arts New York featuring leading examples of research, practice, and policy.

In this video, Christopher Bailey introduces the Arts and Health initiative at the World Health Organization and recounts encounters in which he experienced the healing potential of the arts.

Christopher Bailey is the Art & Health lead at the World Health Organisation, based in Geneva, Switzerland. His newly established program looks at the research agenda around the health benefits of the arts, in everyday life as well as an instrument in the field. Prior to his work at WHO, Bailey was the Research Manager at the Rockefeller Foundation.
