Biomimicry is a relatively new field of study that empowers students to solve human design challenges with nature-inspired innovations as applicable to any field, such as architecture, engineering, mathematics, art, health care and business.

Join Lily Urmann, a recent graduate of Arizona State University’s Master of Science in biomimicry program, as she shares her desire to dive deeper into solutions that already exist in the natural world. She’ll explain the moment she first heard about biomimicry and what motivated her to pursue a master’s degree in biomimicry through ASU Online.

In this video, Urmann explains why the graduate degree is more than your average online program. She also discusses key aspects of the program, such as the structure of the curriculum, the ability to conduct research outside and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on relevant projects. Urmann played a key role in creating and launching one of the world’s first undergraduate certificates in biomimicry through the Biomimicry Center at ASU.
