With this Gate 14 in the Sun this week, we get to explore the work we're doing and how we're doing it. Are you content, fulfilled, enthusiastic about the work you're doing? If you are, wonderful! But many folks aren't feeling that way - hence, we're in the middle of "The Great Resignation". What better way to illustrate that people aren't satisfied or that they're fulfilling their mission/purpose by walking out the door? Yes, of course, there are real concerns about child care, elder care, bosses' expectations and lack of flexibility. But if people really loved their jobs, they would figure out a way to get past these challenges. So what is it for you? Content/happy or compromising on your real dreams? Ironically, we think we have to give up on our early dreams to make a good living - because it's more pragmatic or reasonable to be a lawyer, doctor or programmer. But are you really happy doing that - or just trying to please your parents? When you march to your own drummer, you'll be much happier but also make more money doing it, as the Gate 14 illustrates. Compromise is the Shadow of the Gate 14, and doesn't even begin to achieve fulfillment. So with this archetype in this week, think about what makes you happy and fulfilled, and see if that's what's happening in your own life right now. If not, maybe it's time to make a change. Or start a new career - or open your own business. We're in for a huge transformation - and maybe you doing you is part of it! Have an inspiring week!
