During the 2016 420 celebration in Winnipeg, Kristen Aldrich, one of the organizers read the speech of Crystal Rondeau, a woman who has suffered her entire life from Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2. Crystal has been through hell and back throughout her life and found some solace with the use of medical cannabis which has helped her alleviate the pain and suffering without the terrible side effects of the pharmaceuticals commonly used to treat the disability.
Crystal used to be anti-marijuana until one day when the pain was at a peak, her friend convinced her to try marijuana cookies. She was open to trying anything at that point due to the pain. It changed her life from there on.
She pleads that people come out of the shadows when it comes to cannabis and help normalize it and destroy the stigma that clings to marijuana culture while so many are suffering and using marijuana to make their lives easier.
While people are dying, being thrown in prison and shunned for their use of marijuana, there are so many incredible pros to the use of cannabis, whether it be SMA, MS, arthritis, glaucoma, epilepsy, HIV or even cancer! The possibilities are so incredible, all while government continues to lock people up for the possession of the plant.

Crystal's story speaks volumes and should be shared with those who just don't understand. A lot of people are suffering to an unnecessary extent due to people's rejection of something they know so little about.
Throw your stereotypes away and put yourself in someone's shoes who has to deal with life threatening disabilities day in and day out.
