Lethal Weapon, developed and published by Ocean Software for the Commodore 64 in 1992.

"Two Cops - Both Lethal - A multi-level shoot em up based on aspects of all three Lethal Weapon movies. You can choose to be either one of the two high fire-power cops each having his individual strengths - and weaknesses! There are many missions to complete including the rescue of a kidnapped girl, the pursuit and arrest of drug runners, finding and arresting a police murderer, plus many more. You choose the level to suit your objectives with the game-play. It's mean, fast and Lethal!"

A late release for the C64 from Ocean in 1992. The game is a cut down/simplified version of their Amiga release. Note that they didn't bother to update the box art/blurb to account for this release. In that version you could make choices regarding which missions you played and with which cop. In this version you choose your cop (Riggs or Murtaugh) at the start of the game and carry them through to the end. The game is quite linear although some maps have multiple routes but your main objective is always the same and simply to take the fastest route to the door.

A couple of levels have secret rooms but they only contain a few scoring collectables, not worth bothering with unless you are playing for score, but note there is no highscore table. However the game has an atrocious loading system so it really is best to avoid these rooms. (All the excessive loading has been cut from the video) There are enemies to shoot along the way but they are just there to slow you down. Some level exits have an end boss but these are a joke and just take a couple of shots to kill. The ending makes it all worthwhile though ....

The game's presentation is lacking with just a simple title screen and you kind of get the feeling that Ocean wasn't really giving this version their all and exists purely to exist and it was so late in the day , they didn't even bother with a Spectrum version.. It does look nice but there should have been some background music to drive it along.
