For my reflection synthesis piece, I wrote about my personal and career struggle and how I have become convinced that I am a Development Communication practitioner through this course. I recorded my voice and created a video that not only shares my message but also emphasizes the key words that answer the question “What is Development Communication?”

I never said it out loud,
But in the quietest corners of my mind,I knew.
I was not drawn to the numbers, or the blueprint of progress,
But to the soul of it all—

This wasn’t just travel—it’s a discovery,
A journey that would shape everything I would do.
I know I have traveled for so long
Not knowing where I should be, I found my place in the crosscurrents of worlds.
And still, I carried that quiet doubt: That I wasn’t quite enough,

But then it happened:
Art became more than an expression;
It became a transformation,
A powerful tool, a catalyst for change.
Driven by values, Building bridges of understanding,
Creating spaces for conversations
For stories to be told, for lives to be changed.

And I knew—
I had found and discovered something that would shape who I am.
And now I’m here.
The path was never really unclear,
It was always there,
In every conversation,
In every collaboration,
In every artist, in every story,
In every community that shared their truth

I am a bridge, A voice that connects and amplifies,
A witness to the power of culture—to heal, to teach, and to uplift
And in this moment, I am convinced,
That while I know where I am supposed to be, I will continue on this journey—
Not as a wanderer, But as someone who belongs,
someone who is capable of helping shape a better future,
Through the power of communication,
Through the art of development.

Yes, I am finally here,
To tell stories.
Their stories--
Stories that matter,
Stories that echo with truth and resilience,
Stories that challenge the silence,
Stories of hope,
Of struggle, and of triumph,
Stories Of voices that have long been unheard,
Stories Of dreams that refuse to be forgotten.
Yes, I am here
And maybe, someday, somehow,
I will make a change.
