Hydrolysis Reactions of Amides with Acids and Bases! Explained in 2 Steps!

Описание к видео Hydrolysis Reactions of Amides with Acids and Bases! Explained in 2 Steps!

In this video, I will show in two steps how you can break an amide into a carboxylic acid and an amine. The second step involves the neutralization of the products depending on the conditions set forth in the problem.

During Acid hydrolysis, the amine product with react with the acid creating an ammonium salt. During basic hydrolysis, the carboxylic acid product will react with the base to create a carboxylate salt and water.

I will also go through multiple different reaction examples to help explain the problem from an introductory standpoint with no arrow notation for introductory organic and biochemistry students.
