(14 Apr 2017) DAY TWO OF THE 10TH ANNUAL PAKISTAN FASHION WEEK FEATURES BOLD SLEEVES, JAPANESE THEMES
The Pakistan Fashion Design Council in collaboration with Sunsilk presented the second day of the 10th annual PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week.
Day 2 started with an afternoon show featuring Cynosure, Faiza Saqlain and March by Ali Merch. This was followed by luxury evening showcase featuring a solo show by Tena Durrani and a grouped show which included designer Shiza Hassan.
"Today, on day two, we showcased a modern Japanese theme-based collation called Lolita. And it had lot of different fabrics and lots of cut and colors. And the way we employed modern cuts and there were some traditional Japanese motifs and some beautiful embroideries and embellishments. And it was something new and it was really liked by everyone who was there," Hassan said after the show.
Saira Rizwan and Amir Adnan also showed their colections Friday night (14 APRIL) Lahore.
"Absolutely wonderful stuff that's going to be loved internationally. And it's so nice to see our talent coming fourth and being able to just be out there and compete internationally and people coming from abroad and appreciating our works. It's amazing to see them growing and progressing the way they are," said attendee Maryam Khawaja.
Pakistan's former finance minister, Salman Shah, called the event "very important."
"This is an absolutely amazing event and this is very important for Pakistan economy because the fashion industry of Pakistan is putting a snap on the world map and if we continuing doing these kind of things definitely Pakistan would be a major player in the global fashion world," he said.
PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week runs April 13-16.
