No doubt the most overgrown homesite i have ever metal detected its wild

Deserted for well over a 150 years its almost hard to tell this was a big New England farm. The rock walls and cart paths are being swallowed up by the forest and difficult to find and see in all this grow back. I have been out here metal detecting and relic hunting the cellar hole the last four days and this time around I do a bit more exploring. reading the landscape history I can see the there are improved land sections about but getting through the vegetation is extremely difficult. These old farms were abandoned in the early 1800s because the land conditions were so terrible for farming and the settlers gave up and moved on. But they left relics and artifacts in the ground and that is what I am here to find. With my Fisher F19 I was able to find and dig up some nice pieces today and some very deep and very old. Finding old places like this to metal detect takes a lot of exploring , hiking and reading the land but its out there to be found.
