Komatsu Forest made a test of the new Komatsu forwarders to evaluate the new transmission.

The new Komatsu 865 was loaded and the operator drove over a clearcut area (not yet replanted, of course) with about 1,2 meter deep, soft, untouched snow.
The ground condition under the snow this winter in the north of Sweden was soft, more or less unfrozen ground, creating extremely tough conditions for the transmission.

Without claiming to be a scientific test, it was obvious that the Komatsu 865 managed passing the clearcut area much easier than the comparing machine, an 860.4.
