Tekken 3 - A Retrospective On The Most Influential Fighting Game

I can already smell the copyright strike from how much Tekken Bloodline footage I used, please have mercy on me Netflix...

We're back yet again this week with a retrospective of Tekken 3! One of the biggest and most influential, just overall most universally beloved fighting games of the 90s. But why is that? What did Tekken 3 do differently that fighting games before it hadn't?

Well, for a start, an expansive and diverse roster of characters, a vibe and aesthetic that perfectly resonated with the teenage culture of the 90s, extra fun modes that deviate from your general fighting game gameplay, and more. All of that with a great story as well.

In addition to Tekken 3's story, I also talk about the Netflix anime Tekken Bloodline which came out in 2022. I find it to be a great retelling of the game's story that gives us great character moments and interactions. I hope you enjoy as always, and see ya next week for Tekken Tag, hopefully!
