Hello Movie Maniacs! New this week - a family-friendly sequel and an action movie with "The Rock".

New in theaters this weekend:
HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: SUMMER VACATION (COLUMBIA PICTURES) - While on a vacation with his family, Count Dracula makes a romantic connection. Adam Sandler brings this creation to the screen again. His vocal stylings grace us along with Selena Gomez, Kathryn Hahn, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Andy Sandberg and so many more! This is Sony Pictures Animation's 18th feature film.

Also hitting screens is SKYCRAPER (UNIVERSAL PICTURES) - A father goes to great lengths to save his family from a burning skyscraper. Dwayne Johnson leads this cast along with Neve Campbell. One of the promotional posters for this film parodies the poster of the classic 1988 action movie DIE HARD. In that flick, Bruce Willis stars as a cocky New York cop who finds himself trapped in a Los Angeles high-rise building that has been taken over by international thieves masquerading as terrorists who are holding his estranged wife and others hostage.

Tops at the box last weekend:
THE ANTMAN & THE WASP finished NUMBER ONE! This film takes place in the aftermath of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Paul Rudd is SUCH a GREAT Ant-Man … Evangeline Lilly is a really good Wasp . I really had a great time watching the super fun "powers" AntMan possess! I recommend (just stick to the PG-13 warning). INCREDIBLES 2 stays at number two. And, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM lands at third.

Brand new on Blu-Ray this week:
THE LEISURE SEEKER (SONY PICTURES CLASSIC) - A runaway couple go on an unforgettable journey in the faithful old RV they call The Leisure Seeker. The legendary Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland star. This film is based on the novel of the same name and Sutherland and Mirren are together for the first time since the 1990 film BETHUNE: THE MAKING OF A HERO.

The Outdoor Movies at Founders Park in Downtown Springfield are so much fun! Friday night is family night this week with THE LION KING! And, Saturday night is date night with another awesome 80'S flick with yet another excellent soundtrack, DIRTY DANCING! Movies begin at sundown. Admission is free!
