Gov Moore orders review of info sharing protocol for youth charged with violent crimes

Amid youth crime surge, Gov. Wes Moore authorized immediate action for the Department of Juvenile Services to lead a review of information sharing when a student charged with or convicted of a violent crime attends a public school.

The push for a review of information sharing comes after the Maryland State Board of Education approved emergency rules requiring superintendents of public school systems to share information about students’ criminal records, specifically regarding reportable offenses.
