The BJP led Karnataka govt is planning to bring an anti-conversion Bill to stop forcible religious conversions in the state. The debate over the involuntary religious conversion was led by BJP MLA Goolihatti Shekar. Shekar alleged Christian missionaries in Hosadurga were carrying out religious conversions which included his own mother.
