West Bengal is a State of India located in the East region of the country. It is bordered by Bangladesh and Indian state of Assam to the East, Bihar and Jharkhand to the West, Nepal, Bhutan and Indian state of sikkim the North and Odisha to the South-West. It also shares a coast with the bay of Bengal to the South.
The State capital and the largest city is Kolkata which was once the most populous City of India for decades. Other major cities are Durgapur, Cooch Behar, Darjeling, Howrah, Nadia, Medinipur etc.
West Bengal is the 4th most populous state of India.
Politically West Bengal politics is dominated by national parties All India Trinamool Congress, Indian National Congress, Communist Party of India(Marxist), Bhartia Janata Party.
