In this, Episode 3, I set off from Sydney Harbour to Jervis Bay, then on to Batemans Bay.
I stayed in Sydney for two days, waiting for a southerly wind to blow itself out before I could continue south. I moved from Balmain to Collins Flat at Manly, on the northern end of Sydney Harbour for a quick and early departure out through Sydney Heads the next morning. I experienced some fairly strong westerly winds on this part of the journey, saw some whales and dolphins, and dodged a Navy chopper conducting a live firing exercise!
Even though the strong westerly winds did not create rough seas or swell, it was still a relief to get into Jervis Bay on the first day and Batemans Bay the day after, just to get out of the blustery conditions.
Oh, and did you spot the Lenticular Cloud in between the setting sun and Point Perpendicular (7:45)? I could see it as I was entering Jervis Bay in cold, windy conditions.
