Shyok Winter Festival kick starts in Khaplu, Ghanche today
The winter sports competitions, musical and cultural show will continue from Jan 7-9 Jan, 2023
The sports competitions will include Tiaku Polo, Ice Hockey, Rock climbing, and Volleyball.
Musical and Cultural Show comprising bonfires, balti cultural shows, and Ltanmo. Khadim of Rondu and Hushe Group will also perform at the event The three-days ice hockey tournament aims to provide recreational opportunities for local youth as well as draw attention to the dangers posed by glaciers due to global warming.
For this unique ice hockey tournament of its kind, the beautiful ground has been prepared in Khaplu City Park.
Thousands of local spectators attending the Shyok Winter Festival organised by Ghanche Administration in collaboration with AKRSP.
