A new Western RPG: Tales of the Old West - a GMs perspective

There other Wild West RPGs out there: Deadlands, Down Darker Trails, Fistful of Darkness... What have they all in common? They are all "weird", mixing horror tropes, Aliens, Vampires, or mad scientists into the narrative.

At the UK Games Expo #ukge2024 I sat down with Bruce, a prolific GM who has run lots of "Tales of the Old West" sessions across various UK Conventions. He shares his insights and inspirations.

"Tales of the Old West" (#totow) is a Year Zero Engine #ttrpg that plays the West straight as a six shooter. Human greed, a harsh environment, the desire to preserve or build a way of life provide plenty of RPG potential.
