If you've just been arrested and bonded out, what will your employer see on a background check right at that moment (if they were to look)?

When an employer does a background check on an employee with a criminal charge, they will see the name of the employee, the offense, the court, and the case status of the criminal charge, such as "pending."

When the charge is resolved, the employer can see the resolution of the case, such as "dismissed," or "convicted." If the charge is dismissed, the employee / former defendant needs to take additional steps to expunge the record to completely erase the charge from their background check. Otherwise, the background check will still show the offense on the employee's record, but "dismissed" can still hurt their chances for new or continued employment.
