echo bitmask /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
This command clears the page cache, dentries, and inodes.

bitmask?
echo 1 clears the page cache .
echo 2 clears dentries and inodes.
echo 3 is a combination of both 1 and 2, clearing the page cache, dentries, and inodes.
