Its beach weather folks. And yes we should try out best to do so while social distancing. That being said, has anyone seen the crowds at Woodbine? Scarborough Bluffs? Heck, even Rouge Urban National? What about East Point Park?...

Who?...

Oh right, its not a well known spot. At least, not yet it seems.


I found this spot last year just scanning Google Maps, and my mother was told about it by one of the mothers from the parenting group at my kid's school. Its fairly secluded, you have to drive through all residential streets to get to it or explore the waterfront trail that rides through it from Scarborough Bluffs, through Guildwood, and into Rouge Urban National. This is a magnificent spot down by the lake that gives you great elevated views for paragliding (supposedly they have them there), bird and butterfly watching, floral and fauna, parking is free though very limited, AND theres a beach...hot diggidy, lets go!


DISCLAIMER:
Now I will say this, it did eventually get fairly busy there. The family plus our social circle of 10 went at roughly 10am and we did keep 2m from each other. There was another family to our west 30ft away, and a sunbathing couple 40-50ft to our east...no nudists though I do hear people do come here to bake au naturale. We left around 11:30 as a couple more families showed up and the beach started to visibly become busier, but not crowded. Upon arrival, there was plenty of garbage around so you may need to do a little cleaning up before you enjoy.


Also note, we did see more people decide to jump the barrier to be closer to the edge of the bluffs. We did point out the sign that said "Danger - do not cross" but they shrugged us off. A man was found to be in need of rescue a few days ago out around Cathedral Bluffs Park where its all private property of very expensive homes. But the bluffs across it's entirety has a history of people finding themselves in this situation and I am in no way promoting these acts. The people I filmed just happened to be in the frame when I was trying to get a closer look of the rig platform, from a safe distance behind the barrier with my zoom lens.
