The 2012 Jeep Liberty is powered by a 3.7 liter V-6 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is a 4-speed automatic. Fuel economy figures check in at 16 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway. The Liberty has an advanced 4WD system called Selec-Trac II. This system closely monitors torque between the front and rear wheels and transfers power to those wheels that need it most. This is especially useful when road conditions become nasty. For off-road adventures the Liberty offers 4LO that helps with steep hills and rough terrain. The Liberty can also tow up to 2000 lbs.
