I don’t believe in throwing out fruit. Any fruit that is in your fridge can be turned into a #Simplesyrup. They are a simple thing to have on deck to take a cocktail from good to GREAT! On this beautiful day I took some leftover #blueberries and made a quick simple syrup.

Now I have to apologize to all of the #gin drinkers. I use to say that I wasn’t a gin drinker. Well I have made myself into a liar. In the last year I have found quite a few gins that I don’t just like but I love! Empress1908 gin has been officially added to the list. Blueberry Gin Blues
• 2 ounces of @Empress1908Gin
• ½ ounce of lemon juice
• ½ ounce of Blueberry Simple syrup
• Shake all ingredients in shaker
• Topped with seltzer soda & stir.
• For an extra kick poke holes in extra blueberries with a toothpick & soak in ½ ounce of #empress1908gin and let freeze. Once fully frozen roll in sugar and place on a stick & drop into drink.

Blueberry Simple Syrup (recipe depends on how many blueberries you have)
• 2 cups of fresh blueberries
• 2 cups of sugar
• 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
• Cook all of the ingredients in a bowl on medium heat until sugar is complete dissolved.
• Take muddler and pound out blueberries to release flavor.
• Pour mixture into the blender & then strain blueberries mixture making sure to keep just the juice.
