Malawi's presidency has confirmed that a plane carrying Vice-President, Saulos Klaus Chilima, and nine others, is missing.
Chilima, 51, was aboard a Malawi Defense Force aircraft that left the capital, Lilongwe, just after 9 this morning.
It was scheduled to land at Mzuzu International Airport shortly after 10.
Search and rescue operations are under way.
