As a continuation of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Foundation Fighting Blindness is proud to launch a powerful new storytelling series dedicated to amplifying the voices of individuals experiencing vision loss—on any point of the spectrum.

“The Reality of an Invisible Disability” is more than a series—we’re creating a platform to share personal, raw experiences that reflect the often unseen realities of living with an invisible disability like blindness or low vision. It’s about validation, support, and creating a space for understanding and advocacy year-round, not just in May.

We’re kicking off this new series with a story by Christine Exley, PhD, a member of the Foundation’s Strategic Council, who shares a candid look into identity and life with vision loss.
