There's no doubt about it. Montblanc pens are expensive brand new (and even used) and are largely seen as status symbols.

I'm not denying that the fit and finish is good and my pen does feels good in the hand however there really isn't anything special feeling looking about it - until you look at the BB nib - which looks to me like a crisp broad italic. There aren't that many pen manufacturers out there that provide "interesting" nib designs for broad nib lovers anymore - Montblanc is probably the last.
