Somerset Mall Preview

I took my first vacation in years last week! I've been really getting into fragrances and perfumery over the last six months. It's been an awesome way to help me cope with life, after the past couple of years really kicked my ass.

I'm going to put together a video about the whole trip, but this is one of the short videos I got while I was there, with my Gopro camera. My phone is always low on memory, so I used my Gopro. I tried so many amazing fragrances, that I had never even seen in person!

I was like a kid in a candy store. I had a whole list of brands that I was hoping to try, and I got to try almost all of them. I was amazed that they even had the Amouage Attars out for people to try! They are concentrated scent oil, without any alcohol, in tiny bottles, like 15 ml or half a fluid ounce, and they cost like $600 each! They just had all five or six on the counter for people to try!

The main standout fragrances for me on this trip were Roja Parfums Sweetie Aoud parfum, Guerlain Cherry Oud and Feve Gourmande, Xerjoff Alexandria II, Mind Games French Defense, and Montale Oudmazing. I would have bought Guerlain Cherry Oud, if they would've had it in stock, so I went with Roja Sweetie Aoud.

The lady who rang me out was so nice, and she hooked me up with so many free samples, and even a free bag and purse, to give my mom! I requested a sample of Chanel No 5 perfume, for my mom, and she made a little sample decant right there in front of me, and made one of the new Chanel Allure Homme Sport Superleggera too! She gave me eight other prepackaged samples! Three Mind Games, which were J'adoube, Double Attack, and Blockade, Xerjoff Erba Pura, Creed Carmina, Maison Francis Kurkdjian APOM, Montale Arabians Tonka, and The Harmonist Hypnotizing Fire! I was ecstatic when I saw those samples. I got some kind of skincare stuff too for free; I'll probably use it too.

If you live in the midwest USA and are a fragrance enthusiast like I am, then you should check out the Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan! I drove almost five hours each way, and I already can't wait to go back! I love the fragrance I bought there, and I already know what I want to get when I return.
