Porter Cable vs. DeWalt - Which Air Compressor is Better?

I explain the differences and similarities between the Porter Cable C2002 and the DeWalt DWFP55126 pancake air compressors.

Overall both compressors are very similar. They are both the same weight at around 30 pounds, both have the same 6 gallon storage tank and both offer 2.6 SCFM of air. The Porter Cable At 82 decibels is a little bit louder than the DeWalt at 78 decibels.The Porter Cable is currently $99 on Amazon and the DeWalt model is $169.

My overall impression is that given these units are so similar, the price difference isn’t enough for me to recommend buying the DeWalt. I would buy the Porter Cable and use the money that I saved on a nice dinner.
