SOFA Multithreaded Simulation plugin

The SOFA Multithreaded Simulation plugin has been developed to improve the performance of the simulation in SOFA exploiting parallelism and improving the framework performance for commercial products.

All the most computationally intensive parts of the SOFA simulation step are efficiently scaled down to all the available CPU cores on a machine. The CPU utilization can increase up to 95%. For example, the simulations running on 6 cores machine are more than two times faster.

Around 80% of the Sofa simulation step is parallelized:
Deformable objects solver execution
Collision Detection: primitive tests and AABB bounding tree computation
Constraints Solver (partially)
