In the story the main character Kvothe is a member of a traveling performing group called the Edema Ruh. A rough translation of “Edema Ruh” is swelling spirit. The Edema Ruh pride themselves as accomplished actors, story tellers, musicians, and singers. This is a prideful ballad about setting the stage for a play at night.

The music in the song is powerful with the Celtic instrumentation and a cool break up strain after the 2nd chorus.
