To easily capture product variations in your library, Duro has a simple tool to create Product Variant Groups. This is a handy feature to identify related products and open additional features to auto-generate comparison reports, aggregate procurement requirements, and make changes in bulk across the product line.

To create your first variant, simply navigate to the initial product and select the Product Variants icon in the upper right corner. Duro will create an identical copy of this product but with an updated Name and CPN value. Users can now make any appropriate changes that reflect what’s different for this new product variant.

Once the first Variant is created, a new tab will appear displaying all of the products in the new Product Variant Group. A table shows the flattened assembly for each product and easily identifies what is common across products and where variations occur.

Navigating back to the dashboard we also see a new blue icon conveniently showing exactly how many variants there are for each product.

Now, when we select the Variants icon on a Product page, a modal displays the full list of Variants where we can continue to add more.
