Star Sapphire is the name of several characters in DC Comics, many of them villainous, and all connected in origin.

As Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris has been both a supervillain and more recently a female superhero (superheroine).

She is the long-time love interest of Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern.

Carol Ferris first appeared in Showcase No. 22, but not on the cover, in 1959; and was created by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane.

She first appeared as Star Sapphire in Green Lantern No. 16, in 1962, which is the first cover in this video.
