Our Lord Jesus Christ entered into this world in the most humblest manner; unto us a child is born (Jesus of Nazareth) and unto us a Son is given (Christ the Son of the living God), the Lamb of God, in a manger where the lambs and other animals dwelt because there was no room in the Inn (Luke 2:4-7, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:29, Revelation 5:12-13). Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8), raised up in glory and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God, and brought forth the forgiveness of sins and deliverance for mankind from this present evil world.
Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. KJV
Before we had accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, in the Inn of our heart was dwelling the thoughts and ways of the world; which came of the prince of the power of the air, Satan; the influence of the enemy of God.
There was no room in our Inn for the Lord, until we came to the end of ourselves, heavy laden with sins, having no hope, crying unto God for help. And our Father in heaven called us unto his Son Jesus Christ in a still small voice, saying come child and I will give you peace and rest, repent of your sins and accept my Son Jesus Christ into your Inn. We repented and accepted his Son into our hearts our Inn was clean and swept, the chaos (complete disorder and confusion) gone, filled instead with peace and love of God, Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit that as given unto us. Joy unspeakable full of glory!
There was now room in the Inn, the temple of God which we are, in our hearts to receive the fullness of the Godhead bodily by the repenting of our sins and accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We have given the Lord a place to lay his head. A dwelling place for him to live and guide us on our journey through this world unto our eternal home, the new Jerusalem, with Christ in God.
But beware, because now that your house is clean and swept and the enemy evicted; the enemy will be walking about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour; checking up on his old dwelling place to see if there is an opening for him to enter in again.
Proverbs 4:20-23 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. KJV
It is up to us to keep our heart diligently and filled to the brim with the word of God; seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness daily for all that is needed to upkeep our spiritual house and all that is needed in the outward will be added unto us. Letting the Lord have first place in our heart and life, his influence being much stronger than the enemy. Jesus Christ came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly; the thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy wherever there is an open door of opportunity.
Once the enemy is cast out, do not try to fill in a spiritual void with something carnal.
The cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches, and lusts of other things allowed to enter into our spiritual house can choke the word of God sown in our hearts that it becomes unfruitful if we are not diligent in keeping watch.
Which is why we are encouraged to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2Corinthians 10:5), as well as casting all our care upon God our Father, for he cares for us (1Peter 5:6-10, Hebrews 4:14-16).
Brethren, inn dwelling in our heart is the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and we are complete in Christ, nothing lacking (Colossians 2:8-10); for the love of God, Jesus Christ, dwells in us (1John 4:11-19). So be faithful in all your house; Christ as a son over his own house, whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of hope firm unto the end (Hebrews 3:6). God bless and keep the faith.
