This is a concept track using a custom microtuning based on Just Intonation (that adapts to the root note) to create "perfect harmony". Who knows if the audience can really tell that the major thirds are 14 cents different than equal tempered tuning, but one thing I know for sure is that the intention of exploring this new tuning inspired me to write something "pure" for lack of a better word - and it was definitely a blissful moment when I played this track out at the Space Banana. I was a little hesitant to play it because it is still more of a concept than a finished track - but I had a little extra time after my set and threw this in. I am definitely glad I tried this one out and the audience support has given me the push I need to finish this track and release it. The Space Banana has the absolute best energy and it was my absolute privilege to play music for these wonderful people! Thanks to ‪@drtom.musicprof‬ for putting this show together!

Astrobear was discovered when his remix of Hyperlandia by Deadmau5 was selected as the winner of the Microsoft Original by Design competition. Astrobear released his first track with the ‪‪@mau5trap‬‬ label, titled “So Says the Sea”, as a part of the “We Are Friends 11” compilation album. Never to be nailed down to a single genre Astrobear continues to put out music from all ends of the spectrum. In addition to writing music, Astrobear is also an educator and leverages his background in Digital Signal Processing and Electrical Engineering to teach advanced sound design concepts in an accessible way for fellow music producers.
