Worldwide fewer women are married than ever before, and the shocking part is that they are intentionally CHOOSING to stay happily single vs. settle for anyone just to be married.
In Japan the birth rate has dropped so much that government officials are hosting singles events and dating workshops in the hopes that couples will meet, fall in love, and have children.
In the USA, more young women are freezing their eggs since they haven't met Mr. Right and refuse to settle for Mr. Good Enough. They provide themselves with insurance to have a child alone a few years down the road.
With women having the choice to live as a single, to develop a career, to travel, to own property, to vote, enjoy intimacy and even have children without a husband, the motivation women once had to be married is gone. "Why should I marry someone I can't see myself with for the rest of my life just to be married?" they ask themselves.
Even in Russia, one of the most conservative and patriarchal European societies, young Russian women are fighting back in a gender battle against the social structure which limits their freedom and forces them into a life of marriage with controlling, judgmental and often abusive cheating men. They want to drink, party, and have fun with a variety of men like young women do in other parts of the world - without being labeled or condemned for it.
We discuss the behaviors of men, and why more and more women are opting to live without having a husband.
