Nirbhaya Act - A Documentary

NIRBHAYA ACT-2013, a documentary conceived, designed and developed by Ms. A. Rama Devi, DSP, Mahabubabad with support of local artists aimed at educating the common multitude about the salient features of law and it's penal sections. Through dramatized scenes we have tried to give the public a feel of various crimes, their implications and also how to prevent the occurrences. The most heartening is that crimes like rape, stalking, harassment and acid attacks have found a foothold in mainstream. After the horrific gang-rape and the subsequent murder of Nirbhaya (fearless) in December 2012, the Government of India passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013. The NIRBHAYA Act sends out a loud and clear message that such criminal and heinous acts are dealt with severe punishments. This law will discourage the Roadside Romeos, deter culprits who does heinous offences on women. This law inculcates a sense of fear among the culprits. This is an invention from Warangal Rural Police for educating public and law implementing agencies.
