His artistically talented wife Alice Davis wanted to be an animator but women weren’t allowed in the animation program in the Chouinard Art Institute at the time, so she went into costuming instead. Marc Davis sketched many strong female characters in much of his concept art, though not all of them got all the way to production.
Marc Davis supervised every part of the bibbidi bobbidi boo sequence (also known as The Magic Song. It required exacting timing and thoisands of miniscule pencil marks to make the magic dust float, but the effect was so stunning it left Walt Disney speechless.
