안녕하세요 Jmh Walker 입니다. 오늘은 서울 은평구에 있는 증산동을 걸어봤습니다. 이곳은 반홍산 남동향에 위치한 증산동은 ‘시루뫼’ 라는 옛지명에서 유래된 것으로 마을 뒷산 (반홍산)이 시루를 엎어놓은 모양 같다 하여 나온 지명입니다. 일설로는 증산동이 한강 하류에 위치하여 장마철만 되면 온마을이 범람하였는데 비만 그치면 마을에 가득 찬 물이 일시에 빠져나가 마치 시루를 연상하여 '시루뫼' 라고 불리었다는 설도 있습니다. 증산의 '증' 자는 원래‘시루 증(繒)’를 쓰다가 시루는 밑이 뚫려 있어 재물이 모이지 않는다 하여 토박이가 고종에게 상소하여 갑오경장 무렵부터 ‘비단 증(繒)’으로 바뀌었다고 전해집니다. 지하철 6호선이 지나가는 증산동은 증산역/수색전철역이 있으며, 강변북로/인천국제공항/자유로 등 주요간선도로가 접근이 용이한 지역입니다. 2000년도 부터 불광천을 정비하여 주민의 휴식 공간과 체련증진의 장소로 이용되고 있으며 최근에는 증산로를중심으로 아파트, 다세대 등이 활발이 건축되고 있습니다. 구독과 좋아요 알람설정 해주시면 감사해요.

Hello, this is Jmh Walker. Today I walked around Jeungsan-dong in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. Jeungsan-dong, located on the southeastern side of Banhong Mountain, is derived from an old place name called ‘Sirumoe’, which was named after the mountain behind the village (Banhong Mountain) that looks like an overturned mountain. One theory is that Jeungsan-dong is located in the lower reaches of the Han River, so the entire village was flooded during the rainy season, but when the rain stopped, the water that filled the village drained all at once, reminiscent of a siru, so it was called 'Sirumoe'. It is said that the character 'Jeung' in Jeungsan was originally written as 'Siru Jeung (繒)', but it was changed to 'Bidan Jeung (繒)' around the time of Gabo Gyeongjang after a native appealed to King Gojong, saying that the siru was open at the bottom and did not allow wealth to be collected.
Jeungsan-dong, where subway line 6 passes, has Jeungsan Station/Susaek Train Station, and is an area with easy access to major arterial roads such as Gangbyeonbuk-ro, Incheon International Airport, and Jayu-ro. Since 2000, Bulgwangcheon has been renovated and used as a place for residents to rest and improve their physical fitness.
