CHARGER

After an emotional falling out with their partner, Riley is forced to stay at their friend's house for a few days. Leaving in a hurry, Riley forgets their phone charger and contemplates whether they should return to grab it or stay away for good. CHARGER explores the grip technology has on modern-day relationships and knowing when unhealthy habits are no longer sustainable.

"I feel we have truly understated how integral technology has become to our lives. While phones are devices used to communicate with other people, the device is also a factor in how we perceive each other. This bothered me, the idea of not knowing what someone was thinking or doing because they didn’t respond in time or worse… at all. Could one truly disappear, fall off the face of the Earth, if they aren’t tethered to their phone? Or is this feeling just an anxiety that manifests when the lack of notifications, makes it seem like time has slowed down?"
