Did you know that, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, once fell for a mortal so beautiful that even gods envied him—Adonis. Born from a strange union of Myrrha and her father, Adonis was irresistible. When he was still a child, Aphrodite placed him in a chest and entrusted him to Persephone, queen of the underworld. But Persephone, too, was captivated by his beauty and refused to return him.
