Nagaland is rich in agricultural products and has a lot of potential to grow economically in the presence of formalized food processing units. The number of food processors are increasing in the state but mostly home-based and unable to enter the bigger market. This is mainly due to lack of access to modern technology & equipment, training, access to institutional credit, lack of basic awareness on quality control of products, and lack of branding & marketing skills.
