TT Circuit Assen Reversed Lap Onboard POV

In this video I show you a reversed lap on TT CircuitAssen in the Netherlands. Why? Just for fun!

On july 28, 2020 I visited TT Circuit Assen for filming. That day there were no activities in the track, only some maintenance. I had permission to film on the circuit as long as I did not drive at race speed, because of the workers on the track.

I drove both variants of the track, with chicane and without chicane in the Ruskenhoek. It seemed also a funny idea to me to do a reversed lap on Assen. I already had permission for that, because the old street circuit, which shared a common part with the current track, used one section in the other direction.

So here a funny video from a lap in the wrong direction at TT Circuit Assen.

I also made a drone flight over the circuit and filmed on the remains of the lost Northern Loop. But you will see all the footage in other videos!

TT Circuit Assen is mainly known for the Dutch TT aka Dutch Grand Prix for the MotoGP. It started on a street circuit in 1925, with Start/Finish in Rolde. In 1926 it moved to Assen on another street circuit.

The track was modified to a semi permanent circuit in 1955, which is the base of the current track. In 1992 TT Circuit Assen became a full permanent race track with parts of the old street circuit. Since 1926 the Start/Finish line is stiull on the same place!

TT Circuit Assen was also the first ever race track I visited. That was in the spring of 1989. A half year before I got my driver's license. Those days the Assen circuit was partly public road and it was possible to drive a complete lap. So here I also made my circuit debut.

Actually, TT Circuit Assen was a pure motorcycle track those days. It was long before they also start organizing car races here. But I made my car racing debut at motorcycle track Assen :)

Here my passion for motorsport started and soon I start visiting other race tracks. And the rest is history... My passion for classic circuits lead to the foundation of the Circuits of the past website and YouTube channel.
