Mariah Carey's "Make it Happen" [LIVE] -- Jazz Singer Reacts

This is my reaction, analysis and breakdown of Mariah Carey’s great performance of her hit song Make it Happen, Live Madison Square Garden 1995 from her iconic album “Emotions,”. This high energy performance featured some powerful mixed belts, bouncy phrasing, and some lovely runs. You can hear in the way she articulates each phrase that this is a bouncy pop song. I love the way she accents certain notes, and clips many of them rather than making the phrases long and connected.

I really enjoy Mariah’s performance and the energy she brings to this song. There’s so much happiness in her face as she’s singing and dancing, obviously having fun. LOVING the gospel choir and the great sounds we’re getting. She’s super bright and forward but not too nasally.
