LX got her start in music at a young age playing piano and growing up with a musician father. This led to an appreciation for music that carried LX throughout her life.
Her appreciation and interest peaked when living abroad in Bangkok, frequently attending underground parties and rooftop bars playing house and techno.
Her time in Bangkok was the spark that shifted her from a listener to a creator. Inspired by the music she heard abroad and the way it made people come together regardless of culture or language differences, she learned to DJ upon her return back to Ottawa.
Since then, she has made a name for herself in Ottawa, playing at many major electronic clubs in the city and opening for international DJs such as Gene Farris and RSCL. She has experimented with many genres, from tech, deep and progressive house to melodic and peak time techno. She recently had her festival debut in June at Escapade Music Festival and is looking forward to playing around and outside of Ottawa this summer. Her sets aim to create an atmosphere that connect people on the dance floor and leave a lasting impression.
LX also works with DAZE Ottawa on their marketing team, a collective dedicated to creating events and fostering the growth of Ottawa's dance music community. Through branding and promotional strategy, she helps grow the collective while supporting emerging talent and pushing the local scene forward.
