There was a virtual uproar late 2013. Sway Calloway persisted as a devil's advocate instead of an interviewer which resulted in a misunderstanding with popular artist, Kanye West. On West's predicament, Sway retorted, "Or, why don't you empower yourself—and don't need them—and do it yourself?"

After watching the Shade 45 satellite radio interview, I tailed the sound bite used in its introduction.
(West is referenced for saying, "...people [are] so gay conscious, now." [after 15:00])
