Former Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara spoke at the annual dinner of The LBW Trust, held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 25, 2013. Sangakkara received a standing ovation following his conversation with LBW Trust director and cricket writer Mike Coward, after discussing his life and career, including life in Sri Lanka during the civil war, the 2009 attack by gunmen on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, Pakistan, and giving the Cowdrey Memorial Oration at Lords. The LBW Trust is a volunteer-run not-for-profit in Sydney which raises funds for the tertiary education of hundreds of economically disadvantaged students in developing cricket-playing nations. www.lbwtrust.com.au
