1938 Hupmobile

Larry Cole has been a keen eyed car collector prior to his early years as a TV repair man.
His enthusiasm has been an inspiration to CruiseMasterMike T and Kathy Tollefsrud since the 1990s at Old Town in Kissimmee, FL. We appreciate his knowledge and kindness when we are able to view his car collection and spend time reminiscing about the good ole days. Fabulous friend and a very knowledgeable car guy!

The business was obliged to sell off a number of its facilities and assets by 1936, and Hupmobile stopped producing cars in 1937. In 1938, Hupp introduced a new range of cars with six and eight cylinders, but the company had relatively few dealers at this stage, and sales were quite low. In an attempt to regain market dominance, Hupmobile purchased the production dies of the Cord 810, designed by Gordon Buehrig, on February 8, 1938, for US$900,000.[16] With the Skylark, a more affordable conventional automobile using the eye-catching Cord style, Hupmobile sought to revive its business. Thousands of enthusiastic orders were placed. However, customer support suffered from production delays.
