Modelling Shinei's M1A4 Juggernaut from "86 EIGHTY-SIX" | 3D Modelling Timelapse | AUTODESK MAYA

You might've been wondering what I've done as a 3D modeler from my YouTube bio, well here you go.
This was one of my University projects I finished a few months ago, I recorded all of my progress for the sake of keeping a production journal up to date, and for my own personal enjoyment, hence this video.

Long story short I had to set up my own project with my own brief and pitch. My own brief was to produce a game ready asset for UE5 at a 'professional level,' to go into a (made-up, but still a pipedream) videogame adaption of the anime show "86 EIGHTY-SIX."

I still have a lot to learn, this is not as professional level as I hoped, but what mattered for the marks was the learning of new techniques and methods from the journey rather than the final product.

If anyone happens to watch this, and just so happens to be a professional 3D game artist, please let me know below what you think, and what I could do better.

I used AUTODESK MAYA for the modelling. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Substance 3D Painter for the 2k textures with 5 UDIMs, and Unreal Engine 5 to put it all together. Please know that the environment at the end was not made by me, it was a freebie from the UE Marketplace called "Landscape Pro 2.0 Auto-Generated Material."

This project took around 8 weeks total with a few hours of work each week to complete alongside other clashing units with other projects. I used other existing models to get a feel for the proportions, and screen captures directly from the anime to find the details. It's not a 1:1 model with the source material, but these recordings have got to go, and I need space for future projects very soon. This will also be up on my own ArtStation soon with more renders and screen caps.
