Описание к видео Η Ελλάδα που με κάνει περήφανο | Stefanos Xenakis | TEDxPatras

Stefanos Xenakis meets the TEDxPatras audience to talk about the thousands of our fellow citizens who deliver daily life lessons, through their own lives. The writer talks about the “people next door”, the ones you won’t get to know through social media, neither meet in public events, nor watch on TV. People who do not post on the internet platforms, take selfies or “check in”. People who choose to excel at what they do and exemplify through their silent work, serving their duty to society at every opportunity their status presents – because first of all they have chosen to serve their conscience. These people form the majority in our country, Greece- a country operating exemplarily when away from the headlights- argues Stefanos Xenakis, dedicating his talk at this year’s TEDxPatras event to some of the “silent heroes” of everyday life. Visit TEDxPatras at http://www.tedxpatras.com/ Stefanos Xenakis is the writer of the bestselling book “The Gift”. For many years, he has been working on his passion; self-improvement and personal development- a passion that he shares through his speeches and personal writing. As for now, he works intensively to fulfil his dream to create a new school subject, titled “YES, I CAN”. The project aims to enhance student’s learning about values and self-knowledge, and Stefanos Xenakis’ aspiration is for it to become part of the curriculum in every greek school, starting with elementary education. The writer is also the proud father of two girls, Aura and Aneia, aged 7 and 10. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
